Cloverdale Aerospace Technology Conversion Charter Middle School hosted NASA Astronaut, author and medical physician, Dr. Bernard Harris, Jr. The NASA Discovery Team Member of February 1995 spoke to the student body on his experiences in the NASA program and as the first African American to perform a spacewalk. Dr. Harris increased students’ knowledge of a career in the science, technology, engineering and math field promoting the mission of Aerospace Technology of Cloverdale Middle School and professing the importance of education through a dream-fulfilled message of dedication and admiration. Dr. Harris was greeted by Congressman Vic Snyder, Tuskegee Airman Milton Crenshaw, Little Rock School District Board Member Dianne Curry and Little Rock City Manger Bruce Moore, who presented Dr. Harris with the key to the city.
